A popular loop ascending an aspen-covered moraine to two alpine lakes with spectacular views of the Teton Range. One of the best introductory hikes in the park.

A glacially carved U-shaped canyon passing between Teewinot and Mount St. John with views of Grand Teton, Mount Owen, and excellent wildlife viewing including moose and bears. Shuttle boat shortens the approach.

Surprise and Amphitheater Lakesstrenuous

A challenging climb via steep switchbacks to two stunning alpine lakes nestled below Disappointment Peak. Amphitheater Lake sits in a dramatic glacial cirque with towering Teton peaks above.

1.8 mi · 550 ft gain · out & back

A short trail passing Hidden Falls (a 100-foot cascade) before climbing to Inspiration Point for sweeping views of Jenny Lake, Cascade Canyon, and the Grand Teton. Accessible via shuttle boat across Jenny Lake.

Grand Teton National Park has long, cold winters—snow and frost are possible any month. April, May, & June - Mild days and cool nights alternate with rain and snow. July & August - Warm days and cool nights prevail, with afternoon thundershowers common. September, October, & November - Sunny days and cold nights alternate with rain and occasional snowstorms. December to April - Between storms the days are sunny and nights are frigid. Snow blankets the mountains and valley.
